‘Soumya Pandit is now a name of in the horizon of dancing world; a promising maestro having over a hundred performances to his credit. Soumya Pandit an exponent in Kathak dance of Lakhnow Gharana. Started lesson on Kathak dance at the age of 4 from his father Sri Manoj Pandit. Later he took training form famous kathak dancer Pt. Bachan Lal Mishra. Till date he continues to perform dance programmes at various levels under the guidance of  hon’ble Smt. Shrilekha Mukherjee . Soumya Pandit is an honors graduate in Kathak dance, from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He also obtained Sangeet Pravakar with gold medal form Prayag Sangeet Samity Alahabad in 2000. Sangeet Visharad in dance with gold medal from Sarba Bharatya Sangeet –O- Sanskrity Parisad, Kolkata in 2000. He also obtained Sangeet Praveen form Prayag Sangeet Samity Alahabad. Soumya was awarded First position in student Youth Festival. He also stood First in Akhil Bharatya Dance Competition in Delhi, 2003 and later also performed there. He was also awarded National Scholarship form ministry of culture, Govt. of India. He performed in Akhil Bharatiya Sangeet Samaroh, Lakhnow, Guru Late Ram Narayan Mishra Dance conference; Ustad Keramat-U-llah Khan Sahib music festival. His towering achievements are established in ‘Amad Sangeet Kala Kendra.’

His performance and dance choreography in ‘Drums of India’is also superlative. He has performed in Eastern Zonal Cultural Center (E.Z.C.C) at Bharatiyam Cultural Multiplex Kolkata in the name of ‘Prativa Utsab’,etc. Directions (Dance Drama) given by Soumya :- Atha Abhimannue Katha, Pratiksha, Manashi, Maharash, etc.’

Rumki Banerjee started her lesson at the age of 6 from Smt. Purnima Sarkar. She learned form Mrs Purnima (aunt) for 10 years, then she joined Padatik Dance center and took Talim of Lakhnow Gharana form Smt. Chetna Jalan. In the year of 2001 she joined Rabindra Bharati University, (Kolkata) and obtained honors in Kathak dance. At the same age she took Talim form Prof. Amita Dutta. Then she took traditional dance training form Guru Bachan Lal Mishra.  She also participated in many Workshops held by  Pt. Birju Maharaj. Now she is taking her training form Smt. Shrilekha Mukherjee. She recived the honour of  Sangeet Pravakar form Purabi Sangeet Kala Kendra with silver medal. She also obtained Sangeet Pravakar form Prayag Sangeet Samity and Sarba Bharatiya Sangeet -o- Sanskriti Parishad. She performed at Hero Honda award ceremony from Padatik Dance Center. She performed in the Annual function of  all India P&T Depertment in her early carrier.  Thereafter she performed at Guru Ram Narayan Mishra Smrity Samaroh and also performed in Keramat-U-llah Khan Shahib Celebration Committee. She performed at Murshidsbsd Music Festival. She performed at Gurgano Dance & Drama Festival, arranged by Nishtha Sangeet Kala Kendra,(Delhi). She performed at Amad Sangeet Kala Kendra at Birla Academy. She continues her dance performance all over the country and also abroad and now she  has joined the 'Drums of India'

Soumya & Rumki

Together,  as a dancing pair, they have made a  wonderful  impresssion in the horizon of the dancing world. They have been performing together for the last 3 years. They are the students of “Rabindra Bharaty Universitu,(Kolkata)”. Soumya took his training under his father Sri Manoj Pandit. After that he took traditional ‘talim’ under Guru Bachanlal Mishra. Rumki took her training under Smt. Amita Dutta (Prof. Of Rabindra Bharaty University) and in the later years under Pt. Bachanlal Mishra . And now they take their lessons under the world famous kathak dancer Guru Shrilekha Mukherjee. Many a times they have had the good opportunity to dance on the compositions of Guru Jyan Prakash Ghosh with Mallar Ghosh.

  Another brilliant choriography 'Sound of Soil':[ When we bit the earth with our feet then a sound comes with Laya and Tala; we call it that the sound of feet, no, the sound of soil.
